the end is near!

School has started and I am so busy. I feel like this is my busiest semester ever, and it probably is. Advanced painting is harder, I have my capstone paper and the show to work on, and ceramics! Oh, and my class that has nothing to do with art, but lots of reading and papers! Then, it is the end of me being at OU. Weird, but its time.

This past semester I was painting the relationship that Strawberry and I have together. And, how to paint that was the hard part. The "Mug" painting is her mug from her view and in colors that she would see. I tried to show things we did and I tried to paint a portrait of our relationship not the animal. In ceramics I was experimenting with salt glazes and creating my own glazes, I added photos to the albums on the right.

yes, i realize that I am a slacker. But, I also kind of left my pottery in the studio, whoops, so it wont be until school starts (Monday) that I will be posting photos. i suppose I should take photos of my latest paintings as well. Soon, don't worry followers who have given up on me! And everything will be up and running soon, new programs i had forgotten about for my mac, etc.

Also, I have made my plans for when I graduate. I have decided to not go to grad school, at least not right away. I am going to get my teaching certificate and dive into that and get my masters later in Art Education if I'm feeling it.

Ow Ow, she's back

Okay, so my computer is down and will be for a while. It didn't crash it just wont charge and my battery is dead, so alas, no computer. I have a new painting and another piece that I will post photos of.This was an assignment for my painting class, where we were to do a piece, non-representational, and non-objective, but at the same time show us. And it also needed to have the measurements of our height. So, voila, it is done. A fish bowl covered in feathers. It has meaning, but you can figure that out.

Next, I'm working on a series this semester about pets, my fish and the problems they have caused are the reason I paint fish in the first place. So, I want to show pets and all the emotions that pets bring out in us and why we care about them so much.I took one with the flash, but the colors done really show, so there is another without the flash. Whatever, enjoy.

little time, little time

So, I guess I should probably update. Though, it is hard to update without photos and all. This summer I am taking no art classes, and am taking Botany and Philosophy, which probably means I wont have a lot of time for art. I do plan to eventually take photos of all my stuff from this last semester. So far, my summer has consisted of me reading a lot and bumming and working. Though I have been really busy and I have no idea why. I plan on trying to get some paintings done at least, here's hoping....
